Pilates clients are like family. You sometimes see them more than your own family, you know their personality, their little quirks, and every fine detail in the way their body moves. It’s a very real, very personal relationship. When I lost my very first and longest practicing Pilates client, I needed time to process it, but I posted this at the time so that my memories were fresh about my beautiful client and friend, Todd Hurtubise.
“Yesterday I found out that my Pilates client who I have worked with the longest and a dear friend, Todd Hurtubise, passed away Sunday, February 10th from cancer. He was only 56 years old and we started working together 2006. I don’t even have the words to explain how much I absolutely adored Todd, and I am so lucky to have called him a friend and client. He was a bright light, an infectious soul, a confidant and a friend. The kind of Pilates client and friend that only comes around once in a life time. The world won't be the same without Todd's beautiful and amazing soul in it. I feel so lucky to have had him touch my life and to experience someone so positive, caring, sharing, accepting--and just an all around wonderful friend and human. He taught me so much even though I was technically the instructor. I will hold Todd's memory in my heart forever. I am sharing a few of the memories I will always hold close to my heart on my FB page. I don’t ever want to forget this amazing human. I love you Todd!”
I will be sharing my memories of Todd on the Good Citizen FB page. Additionally, I wanted to find a way to honor Todd in a way that I knew would make him proud. To celebrate Pride month, a portion of ALL sales will directly support @glsen , which works to ensure that LQBTQ students are able to learn and grow in a school environment free from bullying and harassment. This donation will be a contribution in the memory of my very first Pilates client, Todd Hurtubise. I will keep your memory in my mind and in my heart forever!
